Deosai National Park:

Deosai National Park is an alpine plateau of exceptional beauty and ecological value located in the western massif of the Himalayas, east of Nanga Parbat Peak, and in close proximity to the Central Karakoram Range. The plateau, with an altitude of 3500m to 5200m, is an area of 358 mountains. It starkly contrasts much of the surrounding landscape, which is made up of narrow valleys between steep cliffs.

Upper Kachura:

Upper Kachura Lake in Skardu is one of the two lakes famous as Kachura Lakes in Gilgit Baltistan. It is located at a height of 2500 meters above sea level and a depth of 70 meters. This freshwater lake adjoins the Karakoram range, the Indus River Basin, and the Greater part of the Kashmir region.

Upper Kachura Lake in Skardu is likewise prestigious for being home to the Western Himalayan Alpine Conifer Forest. Also, it has Peach Orchards and significantly more to excite the travelers

Satpara Lake:

Satpara Lake is situated at a height of 2,636 meters 8,650 feet above sea level and is spread over an area of 2.5 km². Satpara Lake is also called “Sadpara Lake”. Satpara Lake is a natural lake near Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, which supplies water to Skardu Valley. The Satpara Stream feeds it. Since 2003, Satpara Dam has been constructed downstream of the lake and, upon completion, will enlarge the size of Satpara Lake.

Basho Valley:

Basho Valley Skardu is located in the Roundu Division of Skardu District, Gilgit Baltistan. The Basho Valley, with its extreme beauty, majestic snow-capped mountains, and primitive charm, is one of the favorite places to visit in Skardu, the Northern area of Pakistan. The valley is almost 8,800 feet above sea level.

Katpana Lake:

Katpana Lake is gaining prominence due to the alluring beauty that it possesses, and it is one of the spots in Skardu that is still relatively untouched. The Katpana town serves as the setting for the lake’s entrance. The vista is made even more breathtaking by the presence of a wide variety of trees along the shore of the lake. If you are thinking about taking a trip to Skardu, you absolutely have to make time to go to Katpana Lake. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in Pakistan.

Katpana Desert:

This is one of the most beautiful tourist attractions of Northern Areas in Pakistan. It is called the Cold Desert of the Skardu region. Its mesmerizing cold nights and magnificent sandy view make it a majestic place to visit. There are large sand dunes in the Katpana Desert, which presents a spectacular sight. It is located at an elevation of more than 7, 303 feet. It is one of the highest deserts in the world.

Lower Kachura Lake:

Lower Kachura Lake, also known as Shangrila Lake, is a lake located close to the Pakistani city of Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan. Since 1983, a resort (Shangrila Resort) has been operating on its bank, which is situated at a height of 2,500 meters (8,200 feet). The Heavenly Shangrila Resort is situated 35 minutes from Skardu on a gorgeous lake and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. This resort is primarily renowned for its Skardu boat rides.

Manthal Buddha Rock:

A large granite rock with carvings of the Buddha dating back to the 8th century is located 3 Kilometers from Sadpara Road, in Manthal Village of Skardu, and is known as the Manthal Buddha rock. It is a cultural site in Gilgit Baltistan.

The rock features a huge carving of Buddha in the center with 2 standing Metreyias (future Buddhas) and twenty small Buddhasattvas (disciples) surrounding them has become a tourist attraction.

Shigar Fort:

The Shigar Fort, Gilgit Baltistan, is the heaven on the Earth. It is graced by the sheer elegance of the Karakorum Mountain Range and 4 centuries of legends and folklore. It is the epitome of wilderness, serenity, and beauty. With a historic fort, Shigar is the best short escape in the valley of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Kharpocho Fort:

Skardu Fort or Kharpocho, meaning The King of Forts, is a fort in Skardu in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Australian mountaineer and filmmaker Greg Child writes that the fort is “perched above the junction of the rivers” and overlooks the Rock of Skardu.
